Fagaceae Genomic Resources

The family of Fagaceae has a variety of genomic resources created through projects prior to this one. The Fagaceae Genomics Web is the main resource for finding and searching resources from the NSF grant "Genomic tool development in the Fagaceae". All of that information will be incorporated into this site over time. Five species of hardwoods were included in that project: American Beech, American Chestnut, Chinese Chestnut, Northern Red Oak, and White Oak.

The Pedunculate Oak has been researched extensively by a group of investigators in the EU, and much of this information is available through the Quercus Portal website. Of particular interest to this project are the ESTs and libraries that may serve as important resources for comparison between Q. robur, Q. rubra and Q. alba. We will be incorporating some of that public data on this site.
